What to do:

Experience Parrtjima where the world’s oldest living culture is illuminated, and you are free to explore the breathtaking light installations and cultural storytelling at your own pace. Visitors will encounter artworks that illuminate the stories, rhythms and beauty of language, from ancient songlines and oral traditions to contemporary expressions of identity.

Join Rayleen Brown, a Ngangiwumirr and Eastern Arrernte woman from Kungkas Can Cook, as she shares her expertise of cooking with bushfoods, highlighting its cultural significance and superfood qualities.

Artists from the Hermannsburg School of Art continue Albert Namatjira’s iconic watercolour tradition and are now highly sought after exhibiting artists, represented by Iltja Ntjarra Many Hands Art Centre. Join them for a rare and coveted masterclass, where members of the public are invited to paint alongside these distinguished artists.

For your Desert at Dusk experience, commence with a guided tour of the Desert Park, immersing yourself in the region’s diverse desert habitats and native wildlife. As the sun begins to dip behind the ranges, savour a delicious dinner beneath a canopy of stars, surrounded by the tranquillity of the desert evening, before a Nocturnal Encounters tour. Conclude at Parrtjima, where you can wander amongst the light installations.

Never has an early morning start been more rewarding. With the majestic Uluru in the background, begin to fall into silence as you take in what is truly an unforgettable and life-changing experience. These otherworldly spheres of light are internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro’s latest art installation, Field of Light, and his largest to date, with him and his team installing more than 50,000 slender stems crowned with radiant frosted glass spheres in a remote desert area within sight of majestic Uluru.
