Itinerary

Where to Stay:

Soak up the sun and cool off in the pool at Quest Alice Springs. Quest Apartments are equipped with kitchenettes through to full size kitchens. Nestled amongst the eucalypts along South Terrace, this is perfect for both long and short stays. The CBD is within walking distance, so you can spend idle afternoons exploring Alice's many eclectic shops, cafés and art galleries before capping off the evening with a pink sunset at nearby ANZAC Hill. If it's nature you're after, head out and explore the swimming holes and incredible views of Mount Sonder from the peaks of the MacDonnell Ranges.

What to do:

Experience the magnificent grandeur of the West MacDonnell Ranges on this fascinating one day tour. Marvel at towering fiery red walls set aglow by the desert sun as you drive along the ranges. We tour through these amazing ranges all day and stop at beautiful gorges and waterholes, where we can enjoy a refreshing swim in the warmer months.

The Premium Uluru tour will take you via a luxury coach immersing you in the beauty of the Red Centre's landscape, followed by a trip to the informative Aboriginal Cultural Centre. From here you'll then be taken on a guided Mala walk around the north-west side of the famed Uluru where you'll see many examples of Anangu rock art while also being told dreamtime stories of the Anangu people by your experienced guide. This is followed by a second guided walk starting from the back of Uluru. While listening to stories of local traditions and practices, you'll be guided to the Mutitjulu Waterhole, home of an ancestral water snake called Wanampi, where you can also view caves containing historic rock art. A fresh BBQ dinner with a view of the famous rock will then end your adventuring for the day as you take in the stunning outback sunset.

Never has an early morning start been more rewarding. The silent morning air that encompasses the desert landscape of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is filled with gasps and amazed ‘ooohs' and ‘aaahhs' as the first group to wander through the desert paths are met by four acres of flowing fibre optics lights. With the majestic Uluru in the background, begin to fall into silence as you take in what is truly an unforgettable and life-changing experience. These otherworldly spheres of light are internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro's latest art installation, Field of Light, and his largest to date, with him and his team installing more than 50,000 slender stems crowned with radiant frosted glass spheres in a remote desert area within sight of majestic Uluru.
