Darwin Getaway with Litchfield & Jumping Crocs Adventure

You'll be jumping higher than a big salty croc with the thrill of this 5-night Darwin adventure. The Charles Darwin National Park is eight kilometers away and the Travellers’ Walk can be reached in four minutes. Enjoy ocean views and our outdoor pool.

Where to eat:

You’ll find yourself dining at the iconic Hotel Darwin which dates back to 1940 and has been a long-running watering-hole for the city’s locals. This is the place to try a variety of local produce including fresh barramundi, thick rump steak and even kangaroo pie.

A historic Darwin food lover's destination is the Stokes Hill Wharf, which is conveniently located right next to the Royal Flying Doctor Darwin Tourist Facility. The wharf provides a range of alfresco dining within both the Port and Starboard Arcades alongside casual restaurant dining. All eateries specialise in fresh seafood and steak which can be enjoyed while taking in the panoramic ocean views or the famed Darwin sunsets.

What to do:

Sightseeing in the NT’s capital city is easy with the Big Bus Darwin Hop on Hop off sightseeing tour which will allow you to customise your Darwin experience while also learning interesting facts via the entertaining audio commentary provided on the bus. The popular drop-off spots include the beautiful George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens, Crocosaurus Cove, Stokes Hill Wharf and the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.

Join us for one of Darwin’s most iconic must do activity… a ½ Day Jumping Croc Cruise on the Adelaide River. Departing the city, we journey about 60km South East towards the Marrakai wetlands, home to not only an apex predator the crocodile but 117 different species of reptiles and 280 different types of birds. Explore the diverse wetlands and waterways of the Adelaide River, a floodplain region identified as an important bird area, as you travel aboard the only aboriginal owned cruise operator, where profits go back into supporting the traditional owners of the surrounding area. Enjoy live commentary from our wildlife expert, learn about these magnificent creatures, croc biology, behaviours and local ecosystem.

While on the Litchfield National Park Waterfalls sightseeing tour, you’ll experience the stunning tropical nature of the famed National Park while also provided with lunch, an experienced driver guide and comprehensive commentary. Your first stop will be at the town of Batchelor (the gateway to Litchfield) before heading on to the magnificent Termite Mounds. It’s then on to view the double waterfalls of Florence Falls from a high vantage point before making your way down to the plunge pool below. Next, you'll enjoy an interpretive walk through the scenic bush and monsoon vine forest surroundings, before continuing on to the spectacular Tolmer Falls which is home to colonies of rare ghost and orange horseshow bats. Time for lunch at Litchfield Café before finishing the day at the popular Wangi Falls which is the perfect place to end your adventurous Litchfield tour.
